The government will provide a known card or freelancing ID card for freelancers. According to the government's Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, the freelancing card can be used as proof of employment, earnings, or skills. The card will make it easier for freelancers to apply for banking or visa, rent a home or office, or even enroll children in school. About 6 lakh freelancers of the country will get the opportunity to get identity cards. 

On Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Freelancer ID. Virtually attended the main event held at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar via video conference from his official residence Ganobhaban. Speaking on the occasion, the State Minister for Information Technology said, "Although many people know about freelancing, freelancers have been having problems with their identity for so long." This problem is going to be solved through the familiar card issued by the Bangladesh government. He requested the Prime Minister to bring the PayPal service to the country demanding freelancers.

Freelancing is said to be about that ID card, a web portal has been created for issuing freelancer ID card, from which freelancers can collect ID card after completing the registration. This will help the freelancers to get social loans as well as bank loans and help in their empowerment. To get a freelancer ID card, you need to register through the website. সরকার ফ্রিল্যান্সারদের জন্য পরিচিত কার্ড বা ফ্রিল্যান্সিং আইডি কার্ড দেবে। সরকারের তথ্য ও যোগাযোগপ্রযুক্তি মন্ত্রণালয় সূত্রে জানা গেছে, কর্মসংস্থান, উপার্জন বা দক্ষতার প্রমাণ হিসেবে ফ্রিল্যান্সিং কার্ডটি ব্যবহার করা যাবে। এ কার্ডে ফ্রিল্যান্সারদের জন্য ব্যাংকিং বা ভিসার আবেদন, বাসা বা অফিস ভাড়া এমনকি বাচ্চাদের স্কুলে ভর্তির মতো বিষয়গুলো সহজ করে দেবে। দেশের প্রায় সাড়ে ৬ লাখ ফ্রিল্যান্সার পরিচয়পত্র গ্রহণের সুযোগ পাবেন।

বুধবার সন্ধ্যায় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা ফ্রিল্যান্সার আইডি উদ্বোধন করেন। তাঁর সরকারি বাসভবন গণভবন থেকে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমে শেরেবাংলা নগরের বাংলাদেশ কম্পিউটার কাউন্সিল (বিসিসি) অডিটরিয়ামে অনুষ্ঠিত মূল অনুষ্ঠানে ভার্চ্যুয়ালি যোগ দেন।অনুষ্ঠানে তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলেন, অনেকেই ফ্রিল্যান্সিং বিষয়টি জানলেও ফ্রিল্যান্সাররা এত দিন তাঁদের পরিচয় নিয়ে সমস্যায় ছিলেন। বাংলাদেশ সরকার প্রদত্ত পরিচিত কার্ডের মাধ্যমে এ সমস্যার সমাধান হতে চলেছে। তিনি ফ্রিল্যান্সারদের দাবি পেপ্যাল সেবা দেশে আনার জন্য প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কাছে অনুরোধ জানান।

ফ্রিল্যান্সিং ওই আইডি কার্ড সম্পর্কে বলা হয়, ফ্রিল্যান্সার আইডি কার্ড প্রদানের জন্য একটা ওয়েব পোর্টাল তৈরি করা হয়েছে, যা থেকে ফ্রিল্যান্সাররা নিবন্ধন সম্পন্ন করে আইডি কার্ড সংগ্রহ করতে পারবেন।এতে ফ্রিল্যান্সারদের সামাজিক পরিচিতি তৈরির পাশাপাশি ব্যাংকঋণ পাবেন এবং তাঁদের ক্ষমতায়নে সহযোগিতা হবে। ফ্রিল্যান্সার আইডি কার্ড পেতে নিবন্ধন করতে হবে ওয়েবসাইটের মাধ্যমে । সাইটে নিবন্ধন করে তথ্য দিতে হবে। বিস্তারিত তথ্য ‘লার্ন মোর’ অংশে জানা যাবে। আবেদন করার জন্য ‘অ্যাপ্লাই নাউ’ অংশে ক্লিক করা যাবে।
